Brazil is the largest country in South America and the fifth largest in the world. It is known for its rich culture, wonderful beaches, Amazon Rainforest and intense passion for football. History

Before colonization – Brazil was the home of many indigenous peoples who lived in the Amazon forest and along the coast. Portuguese rules (1500-1822) – Portuguese arrived in 1500 and ruled Brazil for more than 300 years, introduced their language and culture. Independence (1822) – Brazil gained independence from Portugal September 7, 1822. Modern Brazil today Brazil has a strong economy and is a global leader in music, sports and tourism.
