History

During the Viking Age (800-1050 AD), Sweden was home to Vikings, who is known for its maritime trip, trade and raid all over Europe. Kalmar Union (1397–1523) La Sweden, Denmark and Norway to the same state. In the 1600s, Sweden established itself as a great European power and expanded its territory.

Stockholm is the capital city and home to Gamla Stan (Old Town), the Royal Palace, and the Vasa Museum.

Gothenburg is a beach city recognised for its canals, seafood, and Liseberg amusement park.

Malmö is a modern-day town linked to Denmark via the Öresund Bridge.

Uppsala is a historical metropolis with Sweden’s oldest college and mediaeval cathedral.

Kiruna is a northern city in which you could see the Northern Lights and visit the Ice Hotel.
